Handball is an Olympic sport since the 1972 Summer Olympics and the male mode Olímpcios 1976 Montreal Games in female form.  
Like basketball is played indoors for 16 days. This competition the dispute 12 men ’s teams and 10 women. In court there are 7 players including the goalkeeper. The top athletes participation is 330, 180 male and 150 female.

The handball  is a game played by two teams track whose purpose is to send the ball to the opposite goal, throwing with one hand from outside the boundary line area door. As track suit each team has eleven components; played in a closed track, which is most common, teams consist of five or seven players. The track is 40 meters long and 20 meters wide, with a goal in each of the short sides. The ball has a circumference of 58 to 60 centimeters and weighs 425-480 grams. 
In handball game lasts an hour, divided into two halves. There is a scorekeeper and a timekeeper and two referees. The game begins with a kick from midfield and the game takes place between countries, launches and turns with the ball. Players can stop, throw, catch, throw or hit the ball preferably with his hands, although they may use any part of the body except the feet.  
At handball goalkeeper is allowed to use your feet to defend his goal, and is the only person which can depress the goal area. Players can hold the ball up to three seconds and can give a maximum of three steps while in their possession. These restrictions do not apply to the goalkeeper. The ball can go in any direction, even taxiing. A player can hit the ball directly with his fist but can not throw the air and then punch him. There is no offside rule and this helps to make the same is fluid and agile, with the ball moving quickly from side to side of the track. Not much half - court game and most of the action is concentrated around the areas of goal.
